2nd Half: Jaguars Push Back, But Bills Defense Holds Strong
Jacksonville came out of the locker room with some adjustments, scoring on their first drive of the second half. However, that would be the extent of their comeback effort. The Jaguars’ offense managed to be steady throughout the second half but was continually stymied by a fierce Bills defense.
A significant highlight from the second half was Damar Hamlin’s first career interception. Hamlin’s interception was more than just a great defensive play—it was a heartwarming moment for Bills fans.
While the Bills’ defense gave up a few yards, they continued to prevent Jacksonville from getting into any rhythm. The Jags could only muster 10 points, and their offense was held under 200 total yards for most of the game, an incredible feat for Buffalo’s defense.
Josh Allen's Stellar Performance
Once again, Josh Allen proved why he’s one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. Allen finished the game with an impressive stat line: 23 completions on 30 attempts for 263 yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and an additional 44 rushing yards. Perhaps even more impressive, Allen completed 75% of his passes, marking the first time in NFL history that a quarterback threw for that high of a percentage without any turnovers or sacks while leading his team in rushing yards.
Allen’s ability to spread the ball around was crucial to the Bills' success. He completed passes to 10 different players, showcasing the depth of Buffalo’s offensive arsenal. Dalton Kincaid, Khalil Shakir, and James Cook were all key contributors, making the Bills' offense one of the hardest to defend in the league.
Cook, despite his earlier drop, redeemed himself with a strong rushing performance, finishing the game with 87 yards and a touchdown. His dual-threat capabilities as a runner and a receiver continue to elevate the Bills’ offense, making them one of the most balanced units in the NFL.
