The Buffalo Bills defeated the Denver Broncos 31-7 after trailing 7-0 and scoring 31 unanswered points. In a game that saw the Bills win a playoff game for the fifth straight year, this was Buffalo’s seventh win this season by 20+ points, the most in the NFL. The Bills have been no strangers to easy wins this year, making for an exciting season in what was once seen as a possible reset. Bills Mafia has had a front-row seat to more than a few of those victories, seeing their team go 9-0 at home this season.
Josh Allen had a very productive day, going 20/26 for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Allen also added 46 rushing yards, which brought his career total to 609 yards, passing this week’s opponent, Lamar Jackson, to take the lead in postseason career rushing yards by a quarterback. He and Lamar are 1-2 all-time. That wasn’t the only record Josh re-wrote on Sunday. With his two passing touchdowns, he now has 23 career playoff touchdown passes, breaking Jim Kelly’s franchise record. In his last seven games, Allen has 20 total touchdowns, one turnover, and has been sacked only three times. Let’s not forget about James Cook and Sean McDermott. Cook ran for 120 yards and a touchdown, making him only the third running back in Buffalo Bills history to rush for 120 or more yards in a playoff game, joining Thurman Thomas and Cookie Gilchrist. McDermott joined Marv Levy (11) as the second Buffalo head coach with six or more playoff wins.
