Khalil Shakir’s New Deal
Shakir was one of the most reliable receivers for Josh Allen last season, finishing with 100+ targets and proving he could handle a bigger role. The Bills wasted no time in securing him for the long haul, handing him a four-year, $60 million contract with a $32 million signing bonus.
This extension comes at a reasonable price. Many expected Shakir to get closer to $18-20 million per year, so locking him in for $15 million seems like a win for both sides. The Bills get a dynamic playmaker under contract before his price skyrockets, and Shakir gets long-term security.
But how does this impact the rest of the WR room?
Keon Coleman’s Critical Year
Keon Coleman entered the league with big expectations, and early on, he looked like he could be a future star. Before his injury, he was right in the mix with rookie standouts like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Ladd McConkey. But after coming back, something seemed off.
Whether it was lingering pain, lack of rhythm, or confidence issues, Coleman wasn’t the same after his forearm injury. Now heading into his second season, he has a lot to prove. The talent is there, but will he take the next step?
With Shakir locked in and Curtis Samuel still in the mix, Coleman needs to make his mark in 2025. If he struggles, the Bills could look elsewhere for a top target next offseason.
